FAQ

AT GRAHAMITH

We make the complicated feel simple, the overwhelming feel possible, and the long-term feel within reach. Whether you're restoring your credit, preparing for tax season, building financial security, or planning your next trip, we give you the tools, knowledge, and guidance to move forward with confidence.

  • " I HAVE INSURANCE THROUGH MY JOB"

Most job policies only cover 1-2x your salary and disappear if you leave or get laid off. A personal plan follows you no matter what, plus it's very affordable.

  • " I DON'T LIKE TO TALK ABOUT DEATH"

Life insurance isn’t about death—it’s about life. It’s about making sure your loved ones are financially secure no matter what.

  • '' I CAN'T AFFORD IT"

We can adjust the plan to fit your budget. Most people are surprised at how affordable life insurance is when we break it down.

  • " I DON'T HAVE ANY KIDS"

Life insurance isn’t just for people with kids. It can cover final expenses, pay off debts, or even be used as a financial tool to build wealth

  • " I HAVE HEALTH ISSUES"

I work with companies that cover people with diabetes, high blood pressure, past surgeries, and more. Some don’t even require a medical exam!

  • " WHY DO I STILL SEE COLLECTIONS"

Being in credit restoration does NOT mean the collections disappear overnight.

  • " WHY ARE THE SCORES DIFFERENT"

Different bureaus move at different speeds.
TransUnion might delete fast, while Experian sits there tapping its foot

  • Why do I get denied even if my score looks “good”?

Lenders don’t just look at the score.
    They look at the file:

    Too many collections
    Too many late payments
    Too many recent inquiries
    Thin credit history
    High balances

A 650 with a messy file gets denied.
A 620 with a clean file gets approved.

  • " Why does credit repair take more than one round?"

Every account, bureau, and furnisher responds differently. Some fight back. Some ignore. Some verify. Some don’t. Persistence is the process.

  • '' WHY ISN'T MY SCORE GOING UP"

The negatives are still reporting every month.
Until those accounts stop updating or get deleted, bae… your score is gonna hold its breath.

Your balances might be too high.
Credit cards over 30%? Whew. That right there will sit on your score like a brick.

    New accounts or inquiries.
Every time you apply for credit, your score pauses like,

“Now why would you do that?”

You haven’t hit a reporting cycle yet.
Credit bureaus update on their time — not ours. Sometimes you just gotta wait for the next cycle.

    Your mix isn’t strong.
No credit cards? No installment loans? Your score needs variety, sugar.

Old negatives just sitting there aging like bad leftovers.

Even old accounts can drag your score down until they’re disputed, removed, or fall off.

  • " HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK A TRIP?"

The sweet spot is 45–90 days for most trips. If it’s holiday season, book 3–6 months ahead because prices get disrespectful.

  • " What’s the difference between a passport book and a passport card?"

The book gets you anywhere in the world.

The card is only good for land and sea travel to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean.

    Get the book !!!!

  • " ARE ALL-INCLUSIVE RESORTS WORTH IT?"

If you like food, drinks, activities, and not reaching for your wallet every 5 minutes — absolutely yes.

  • Is it cheaper to book flights and hotels together? ect

In many cases, yes. Bundles can save you hundreds — and reduce stress.

  • What’s the difference between travel insurance and trip protection?

Travel insurance = medical + cancellation + emergencies

Trip protection = usually just covers ticket changes or baggage

Insurance is stronger. Protection is lighter.

  • " HOW EARLY CAN I FILE MY TAXES?"

    JANUARY 2, 2026
You can start as soon as the IRS opens the filing season, but the exact date changes each year. You can prepare early — but the IRS won’t process until they open.

  • " HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY REFUND?"

Most refunds deposit in about 7–21 days once the IRS accepts the return.

Credits like EIC or ACTC may take longer due to extra verification.

  • " I didn’t work much this year — can I still file?"

Yes, you can still file. Sometimes you may qualify for credits even with low income.

  • " Do my kids automatically qualify me for Head of Household?"

    Not always. HOH depends on:

    where the child lived
    who supported the home
    and legal eligibility

    It’s not automatic.

  • " DO I HAVE TO PAY TAXES IF I AM SELF-EMPLOYED?"

Yes. If you earned over $400, the IRS expects you to report it and pay taxes on it.

  • " WHAT IF I OWE THE IRS?"

You can set up a payment plan. You don’t have to pay everything at once.

  • "WHAT IF I OWE SCHOOL LOANS?"

Owing student loans won’t stop your tax refund unless the loans are in default and sent to collections.

Loans in good standing? Your refund is safe.
Defaulted loans? Your refund can be taken through Treasury Offset.
On a payment plan? No issues — you’re fine.

  • "WHAT IF I GET SSI/GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE"

SSI is not taxable, and it does not affect your tax refund.

You can still file taxes, and in many cases, you may qualify for certain credits even if SSI is your only income.

If you worked any amount during the year, filing can help you get credits you would otherwise miss.

  • " I HAVE A 401(K). WHY WOULD I NEED LIFE INSURANCE"

A 401(k) grows while you're working and doesn't protect your family. Life Insurance primary role is to replace your lost income no matter where you work.
